INTRODUCTION

Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) geomembranes are a versatile geomembrane liner material that features high flexibility, elongation and puncture properties. PVC’s flexibility allows for fabrication into large panels and folding for delivery to site which maximizes panel sizes and reduces on-site installation time resulting in substantial savings. Fabrication also helps improve the quality of seams which are produced in a controlled environment.

Installation of PVC

PVC supports diverse field seaming capabilities (thermal fusion by hot air wedge welders or chemical adhesives). Now, with advanced technology in field welding, the use of wedge welders that apply heat and pressure to form a homogenous weld are becoming the state-of-the-art. Wedge welding provides excellent seam properties and reproducible welds and is faster and cleaner than solvents.
